Wieder eine neue Ahnenliste

17 February 2010

Neue Ahnenliste

9 August 2009

I’ve used the newest update to add a new ancestry list to the website.  Johann Masch was born around 1748 in Ivendorf and is currently the oldest verifiable ancestor.  Everyone who can certainly connect him to one of the Masch farmers of Ivendorf, Hans und Jochim Masch,  may have the liberty to mail me.

Site update

8 February 2009

After some time there is again an update of  the site. Mostly everything has been done – from the update of the blogging software till adding new information in the ancestry lists.

Masch in Wisconsin

21 July 2008

To my relatives who immigrated into the States I can count the family of my Great Great Granduncle Karl Masch. However Karl himself didn’t emigrate from Mecklenburg as he died already 1910 in Bartenshagen. His oldest son Heinrich moved to Milwaukee in Wisconsin a year after his father’s death. 1912 Karl’s widow Lydia and the other 3 children followed. The family lived almost 10 years in Milwaukee till the youngest brothers Otto and William Masch took a farm near Kellner in the Portage County of Wisconsin. And as can be seen in the article of the Daily Tribune, they did it pretty successful and effective.

It is known that Lydia Masch was a born Stenzel and was related to the family of Henry and Amanda Stenzel of Milwaukee. I could follow some tracks of the Masch family in the ship lists and the censuses of 1920 and 1930. Until around 1932 the family was sometimes mentioned in the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune. However I couldn’t find anything after.

Trusting that the search engines don’t forget, I herewith start a request: Everybody who knows something or someone of the Masch family of Kellner, Wisconsin, or is even related to them, can get in touch with me.

Update of the website

31 May 2008

After a long time I have updated the Blog again. I’m sure a some people have noticed that I tried some new stuff since New Year. Amongst other things are a brand-new design and a few photos of my great-grandparents and ggreat-grandparents.

The ancestry lists have become an overhaul, so that they are a bit more “readable”. Of course the lists still contain some linguistic inconsistencies, because they are after all created by software. But they are up-to-date now.

Ausstellung in der Parkentiner Kirche

8 July 2007

Summer update

8 July 2007

This week I have started updating the site. The last half year I could add numerous new people found in the Rostocker Heide and surrounding area. When you believe you could have relatives in this area, you may want to start searching with the list of places.

Frohe Weihnachten

24 December 2006

Because of all the new english speaking relatives we’ve got, I made the website translatable so it can be now read in english. The language can be changed in the upper right at the menu.

The informations at the website were also updated. Thanks to the Mecklenburg Censuses of 1819 and 1867 a lot of individuals and families could be added and some problems could be solved.

Merry christmas and a happy new year everyone

Neue Vorfahren, neue Verwandte

19 August 2006
