Hello – This website has been very helpful in my family history research. Thank you for putting this together! Between your website and the microfilm of Lutheran church records from Rövershagen, my family tree has grown a great deal.

I have a question about adding to it. Your site goes as far forward as my great, great grandmother, Maria Dorothea Elisabeth Lorenz, who was born in 1829. She came to America in 1870 and settled in Sangamon County, Illinois. I am able to add many, many more names and dates if you are interested in posting them.

My German is very limited. I am able to understand words related to genealogy and not much more beyond that. Are you able to reply in English?

    Sincerely,

    Hello Sebastien,

I am researching Masch ancestors who emigrated to Michigan in the 1860s. They were descendents of Hans Joachim Masch, born about 1761 in Ivendorf and his wife, Anna Elizabeth Starck b. 1761 in Hohenfelde. Their son Christian Ludwig was married 3 times and several children remained in Germany while 5 emigrated to the U.S. I have theorized that Hans Joachim may be related to a Joachim Christian Masch (married Dorothea Peters) and/or a Johann Joachim Masch b. 1748-50 in Ivendorf (married Maria Westendorf) – maybe brothers? Might you have any information on these individuals? I don’t know who Hans Joachim’s parents are because I haven’t found a listing for his birth in the Parkentin church records. Christian Ludwig’s youngest son, Peter, was my great grandfather.

  • Margaret, I believe I don’t have more informations on these individuals than you. But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t have some hints. Please, mail to genealogie [at] wilsen [dot] de

    Hallo Sebastian,

I am so glad that Cheryl Gross sent me the link to your site. My grandfather was William Suhr Jr. (b.4-14-1921 d.7-11-2003 Alief, Texas, U.S.A.). I have searched for several years to find his family but was not aware that his father’s name was actually Wilhelm. He was known as William Sr. to the family. Thank you for putting together such a wonderful site. My entire family is grateful.

I have some information about William Suhr Jr.’s mother Mary Della Byrum Surh and the rest of the family. I would be happy to email it to you if you would like.

    Thank you.

P.S. Vom 16.-21.6. weilen wir in Adersbach!
